Managing Partner

Dato’ Low graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya in 1990. He commenced pupillage in May 1990 at Messrs Soo Thien Ming & Nashrah (formerly known as Messrs Soo Thien Ming & Shahrizat) under the supervision of Mr. Soo Thien Ming and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 1 March 1991.

He began his legal career as a legal assistant in the same firm, where he was exposed to a broad range of conveyancing and banking transactions. In 1992, he joined the present firm as a partner and has since been instrumental in the firm’s development. He currently serves as Managing Partner.

Dato’ Low has over three decades of extensive experience in conveyancing, banking, and commercial practice, with a primary focus on property development, financing structures, and transactional advisory work. His practice encompasses a wide spectrum of advisory, drafting, and supervisory responsibilities across both transactional and development-related matters.

Experiences

  Leadership and overall supervision of the firm’s conveyancing department, including management of legal teams handling real estate transactions, sale and purchase agreements, and large-scale housing development projects involving developers, purchasers, and financial institutions;

  Advising and acting in housing, commercial, and corporate financing transactions for various banks and financial institutions, including the preparation and review of both standard form facility documentation and complex, structured financing arrangements tailored to specific transactional requirements;

  Structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide range of commercial and property-related documentation, including sale and purchase agreements for industrial, residential, commercial, and agricultural properties, as well as financing instruments such as loan agreements, memoranda of deposit of shares, fixed deposit arrangements, floor stocking facilities, debentures, and trade finance documentation including letters of credit, trust receipts, and banker’s guarantees;

  Advising on and drafting bespoke commercial agreements, including distributorship agreements, settlement agreements, compensation agreements, novation agreements, artiste agreements, and other specialised contractual arrangements structured to meet commercial and regulatory requirements;

  Providing strategic legal advisory on transaction structuring, risk allocation, documentation frameworks, and completion mechanics in complex and high-value conveyancing and financing transaction
